I am an African American Orthodox Jew who also converted 40 years ago in Jerusalem.I had the pleasure of meeting Rav Gamedze and his wife and family in Israel many years ago. I live in Israel and this Rav is a special נשמה.
Who r you ? I was there with JLE 34 yrs ago. He was there at that time. Shmuel the black convert basketball player was my roommate then. Bertram, Gottlieb, Tatz.
I wish we could all think, speak, and behave like you. The world would not only be a better, but also a more Godly place. Keep going. Thank you for sharing your story.
How true are his words and what chizuk it is to hear it from a former African Prince. May the Rabbi and his family continue to reach ever higher hights.
ILOVE THIS EPISODE AND LOVE AND RESPECT THIS RAV SO MUCH. I'LL REWATCH THIS FOR SURE. A REAL SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE TO LEARN FROM THE RAV AND IWANT TO THANK YOU ALL OF YOU!
I knew him at Ohr Somayach Jerusalem over 30 yrs ago. He was stunning lol, very classy and yes, he really moved like royalty. He knew dozens of languages. He told me he wanted to learn Hebrew but could not learn it in Swaziland so he went to EY. He’s real legit . I think he wore a black fez back then and he was very quiet. He said he lost alot of money leaving his home and family. We spoke once or twice . So nice to see him all these years.
Wow He has come a long way. Such a humble and wise yid. I remember his wedding, it was drizzling. And I thought to myself nice they are throwing down glitter from heaven. Hashem wanted to show us that he wanted to be part of the Simcha.
Hi guys, incredible podcast. You outdid yourselves. By the way, as a side note, translate the words in Hebrew or Yiddish that you are using (or your guests) because a lot of people from different backgrounds don’t understand and detracts from the excellent job you do. All the best, keep on the amazing work, cheers and greetings from Be’er Sheva, Israel.
What a beautiful pure neshama, love what he said the purpose of him becoming jewish was possibly to bring jews closer to G-d.needed more now in our history then ever.
2 Samuel 23: 11 "Next to him was Shammah son of Agee the Hararite. When the Philistines banded together at a place where there was a field full of lentils, Israel’s troops fled from them. 12 But Shammah took his stand in the middle of the field. He defended it and struck the Philistines down, and the Lord brought about a great victory."
Please can you put some of the Jewish words into English? Only commenting in the hope you see this! I have watched a lot of your videos but some words/phrases I don't understand.
It's intended for a particular audience. So many Hebrew and Yiddish words are sprinkled in naturally that it would become very burdensome and clunky to translate them all. A better solution would be for you to watch this channel with a friend in the know.
I am subscribed to a few Jewish podcasters as I am genuinely interested. I know quite a lot of the words and traditions, but I would like to understand more. Some put the words once up on the screen, or maybe the words could be written in the introduction you can read. A lot of Jewish podcasters have non-Jewish viewers and having the basic translations would possibly attract more viewers. I live in Spain and I don't know any Jewish people here.

Great story. Beautiful Neshama!
That would be a good and nice thing for them to do. Until then, feel free to ask about the meaning of specific words

So stick your wallet or phone in back seat.
Left shoe?
I think he sent me an email once to save his country. I donated $50
Sorry it wasn't Rabbi Gamedze
@shoshanagamedze9567
It's a joke, don't take it seriously. You know those scam emails from the prince of Nigeria who needs your money?
Lol
